Peter Freeman, Inc., New York, is pleased to present an important two-artist presentation for
TEFAF New York, featuring rarely exhibited sculptures and drawings by Italian modernist
Medardo Rosso (1858-1928) and new and recent works by contemporary German artist
Thomas Schütte (b. 1954), among the most acclaimed artists of his generation.
Rosso's and Schütte's sculptural works of the human form—often portraits—have in common
an emotional charge deriving from the artists' poetic, even if uncomfortable, observations
of the human condition. Among the works on view will be very rare bronze casts by Rosso,
and an aluminum work by Schütte, never-before-exhibited in the United States.
