TEFAF New York Spring 2023: From the Library
Peter Freeman, Inc. | Booth 306
For the 2023 edition of TEFAF New York, Peter Freeman, Inc. will recreate a library with a full-scale representation of the bookshelves that line the walls of our own library at 140 Grand Street, along with vitrines and shelves filled with handmade, painted, drawn, or lettered and collaged books by artists including Mel Bochner, James Castle, Charles LeDray, Mangelos, Matt Mullican, Mladen Stilinović, and Richard Tuttle. Two-dimensional works that reference or incorporate book covers and pages by David Adamo, Fernanda Gomes, Helen Mirra, and James Welling, as well as other book-like and book-related objects by Robert Filliou and Richard Wentworth, will punctuate the walls. Busts by Thomas Schütte and Bruce Nauman’s Proof for Hand Circle further encourage a sense of discovery, reconstructing one’s experience of visiting the actual library at Peter Freeman, Inc. Special edition books by Silvia Bächli, Ernst Caramelle, Ed Ruscha, Anne-Marie Schneider, and others will also be available.
