Art Basel Miami Beach
Booth E7, Miami Beach Convention Center
4–8 December 2024
Peter Freeman, Inc. is pleased to participate in the 2024 edition of Art Basel in Miami Beach. The gallery has exhibited nearly every year since the fair began in 2002, making this our 21st participation.
Featured prominently is Thomas Schütte with a work entitled Fratelli (2012), a four-part bronze sculpture comprised of oversized busts, whose retrospective is on view at The Museum of Modern Art, New York until 18 January. A more recent ceramic by Schütte is also included in a special section in the booth of ceramics produced by eleven artists in the Cologne atelier of Niels Dietrich, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Gallery artist David Adamo’s first project with the ceramics workshop is highlighted here alongside works by some of Dietrich’s earliest patrons, including Richard Deacon, Cameron Jamie, Heinz Mack, Mike Meiré, Norbert Prangenberg, Otto Piene, Paloma Varga Weisz, and Anna Zimmermann.
The rest of the booth focuses on gallery artists and includes paintings by Mel Bochner, whose concurrent exhibition 48" Standards is on view now at our New York gallery (a facsimile of Bochner’s original Standards notebook drawings, with an essay by Jeffrey Weiss, has been published in conjunction with the exhibition); a recent photographic work by Dove Allouche, who will mount the first exhibition at our Paris gallery's new location when it officially reopens this spring 2025; a group of paper collages by Julije Knifer, the subject of our most recent exhibition that marked the 100th anniversary of his birth; and a 2003 painting by Catherine Murphy, whose fourth exhibition with Peter Freeman, Inc. opens in March 2025. Murphy was recently featured in The New York Times “10-Minute Challenge” series asking readers to spend an extended period of time looking at one piece of art.
Drawings by Silvia Bächli, prints by Elisabetta Benassi, a painting and a sculpture by Fernanda Gomes, a sculpture by Charles LeDray, and a large painting by Robert Moskowitz will also be on view.
